TITANS EVE – Vancouver Thrashers Titans Eve are now exclusively streaming their first single ‘Destined To Die’ on Decibel Magazine’s Deciblog here. The single is from the band’s upcoming concept album ‘Life Apocalypse’ set for release on Friday, July 13th and is the follow-up to last year’s debut ‘The Divine Equal’ (based on The Book of Genesis & John Milton’s poem ‘Paradise Lost’).

”Destined to Die’ is the track we feel really introduces our album’s theme of a personal apocalypse on a broad scale. It’s about a person’s everyday struggle with life challenges and how in the end we die no matter how hard we fight to live. Death is the storm we can’t see, but our wanting to triumph over challenges despite the inevitable end is what makes us real.’ says vocalist / guitarist Brian Gamblin.

As the halfway point of 2012 nears, these are ten recently released Metal albums that have left their scorching mark upon my Metal lovin’ eardrums. Wether it’s an EP or full-length, I look upon any release as an album. There may be an album that was released in late 2011 listed here too… and as Lenny Wolf of Kingdom Come would say: “it is what it is.”

K-OS “Planeta Violento” – New Metal Release Is Out Now! Stone’s Metal Pick Of The Day!

K-OS is a Spanish Metal band that caught my Metal attention this past weekend. K-OS is from Salamanca, Spain. Planeta Violento is their new studio album and it was released on April 16th, 2012.

Planeta Violento is sung in Spanish and the Metal is very, very good. Very good. Vocalist Carlos Plaza “Dyox” has a strong delivery and projects that Metal attitude which makes the songs sound even more potent. Planeta Violento embodies great production and this band plays tight. I really dig what I’ve heard (and still listening to) from K-OS and their Metal does kick some ass aplenty.

Thrash Metal and any Metal fan who appreciates quality songs and musicianship should give K-OS a listen. This album is riff infested and will give you every opportunity to bang thy head. Air drumming to Planeta Violento is fully endorsed by Stone! (Yes, my air drumming is out-of-control while listening to Planeta Violento). Metal be thy name.

MY OWN CHAOS – Announce ‘Chaos Across Canada Tour’

Vancouver’s MY OWN CHAOS, a female fronted Metal band that fused Traditional Metal with Thrash and straight ahead Hard Rock are proud to announce dates for their upcoming “CHAOS ACROSS CANADA TOUR”, which will see them venture across the Canadian provinces, kicking off their tour in Vancouver, BC on June 26th and going east to return west on July 28th for a tour wrap up show in Innisfail, AB.

The band will be touring on their well-received debut “MY OWN CHAOS”, a concept album that has charted in the top 10 Loud College Radio Charts across the country. The album features a who’s who of guest stars like Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys/Lard), Joey Keithley (DOA), Ani Kyd (Alternative Tentacles Recording Artist Fuel Injected.45), Steve Jack (Rockhead) and Brian Langley (Infernal Majesty).

“The My Own Chaos album was written about my divorce and the emotional rollercoaster that goes along with it.  At times I was questioning my sanity and doing all that I could to hold everything together.  I really dove deep into my emotions and let all the issues out.  This album is my therapy” commented My Own Chaos vocalist Connie Chaos (who also fronts the tribute bands Sister Sabbath and Zeppelina).

SKELETONWITCH – Announce North American Tour Dates, Summer 2012; European Tour Dates Listed

Ohio Metal heathens SKELETONWITCH have announced plans to demolish North America this summer on a headlining tour, which will also feature classic rockers Barnburner (Metal Blade Records). The tour, which includes two weeks’ worth of dates in Canada, will commence July 13th in York, Pennsylvania soon after the band return from a European tour during which they will play festivals alongside the likes of Slayer, Megadeth, and Behemoth. THE WRETCHED END “INROADS” – Releases In North America, June 19th, 2012, Via Candlelight Records

Norwegian trio The Wretched End return with album number two. Featuring ex-Emperor guitarist Samoth and ex-Dark Funeral drummer Nils Fjellström, the Metal hybrid delivers another blistering epic.

Following a successful release overseas, Inroads makes its anticipated stateside debut. A blend of Black, Death, and Thrash, The Wretched End have early on found a curious and growing fanbase. Canada’s Digital Media Records will release District Destruction from German Thrashers MORTAL INFNITY on June 15th. MORTAL INFINITY offers an album’s worth of surgically precise, immediately memorable, and frighteningly ferocious Thrash Metal. The album was recorded at Sound Lodge Studios from Joerg Uken (God Dethroned, Dew-Scented, etc), ensuring maximum riff crunch and laceration potential.

Taking influence from the likes not only the Bay Area (Exodus, Testament, etc) and German (Destruction, Kreator) scenes, but also acts like Slayer and Lamb of God, MORTAL INFINITY’s District Destruction is one debut album that plays like it was made by 20-year veterans.

Band Background:

Mortal Infinity is a Thrash Metal Band from Bavaria/Germany. The band combines their influences from old school Bands like Exodus, Testament, Pantera and Slayer with modern bands like Lamb of God to create their own trademark. Mortal Infinity was founded 2009 by lead singer Marc Doblinger and bass player Sigi Weinhart. After the usual changes in the early lineup, they hit the stage with guitar players Sebastian Unrath and Thomas Harlander, who both play rhythm and lead guitar, and Frank Fiedler on drums.

Early in 2011 Mathias Erber joined the band to fill in for bass player Sigi W. who quit to attend a university of applied sciences. Later that year Frank F. left the band because of his health issues, so Mathias E. switched to drums and Daniel Hofer joined Mortal Infinity as the new bass player.This is the line up that recorded the debut District Destruction at the Sound Lodge Studios with Joerg Uken (God Dethroned, Dew-Scented) late 2011.

May 2012 had a historic moment for the band when a contract was signed with Digital Media Records, a proud event for the band indeed. Mortal Infinity are playing numerous shows in Europe (e.g. Metalfest Austria with Megadeth) and looking forward to seeing you on the road!

TESTAMENT – Reveal “Dark Roots of Earth” Album Details!

Bay Area Thrash titans, TESTAMENT, have revealed the cover art and details for their upcoming Dark Roots of Earth release! Artwork was painted by Eliran Kantor who has worked with such bands as SODOM, ATHEIST and SIGH. Dark Roots of Earth was produced, mixed and mastered once again by the world-renowned Andy Sneap (ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE, ACCEPT, EXODUS).

Special bonus tracks were recorded, mixed and mastered by Juan Urteaga (CATTLE DECAPITATION, HEATHEN, VILE, SADUS) at his Trident Studios. The highly anticipated follow-up to their 2008 release The Formation of Damnation will be released on July 27, 2012 (Europe) via Nuclear Blast Records.

CHAOS THEORY – Sign To Massacre Records; Debut Album “Bio-Death” Releases This June!

CHAOS THEORY are going to release their debut album through Massacre Records!

The band from Italy has signed a record deal with us and will release their debut album “Bio-Death” in late June!

The band was formed in autumn 2009 by guitarist Giovanni and drummer Michele. Vocalist Claudio, bassist Daniele and the other guitarist Davide joined the line-up and they soon recorded their first self-titled demo, which was released in 2010.

Daniele left the band during the recordings of their upcoming album. This had no effect on the quality of the album. Multi-instrumentalist Maurizio Fracchetti, who is also responsible for the mix and mastering, stepped in as bassist on “Bio-Death”. CHAOS THEORY are still looking for a bassist, though.

Watch out for CHAOS THEORY, ’cause they’re playing fucking hard and fucking heavy!

HEMOPTYSIS Song “M.O.D.” Wins Award At 11th Annual Independent Music Awards

HAVOK – Sepultura Cover Song Streaming At MetalSucks

Today the Metal-loving web moguls at MetalSucks premiere HAVOK’s rendition of “Arise” by Sepultura. The tune comes off the band’s forthcoming new EP titled Point Of No Return. Set for release on May 22 in North America, the EP was recorded by the band with final touches by James Murphy (Death, Testament) and contains two new Thrash hymns and two cover tracks: the aforementioned Sepultura cover and a HAVOKed version of Slayer’s “Postmortem/Raining Blood.”

Point Of No Return will precede the band’s first European adventure beginning early May with Goatwhore, Angelus Apatrida and headliners 3 Inches of Blood. The Denver Thrash legion are currently on tour with Sepultura, Death Angel, and Krisiun. The North American Kairos Tour 2012 kicked off April 10 and will make its way through nearly three weeks worth of shows before coming to a close in New York City on April 30.

RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER – Ghostmaker Set For June 19th, 2012 Release On Candlelight Records

RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER – Candlelight Records today confirms June 19 as the North American release date for Ghostmaker, the new album from Metallers RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER. Produced by the band, Ghostmaker is the third album from the Philadelphia quartet and reunites the band with noted gore artist Mike Hrubovcak (Sinister, Hate Eternal, Cattle Decapitation).

Commenting on the album, vocalist/bassist Shawn Riley says, “Ghostmaker represents everything we have worked towards for the past several years. When the album drops it will be obvious that this is something created by four dudes thirsty for blood, eager to silence all the critics, and to crush all the lames.” Guitarist Ryan Moll notes, “This album is our fastest, darkest, and most relentless album yet. It will contain some of the most bone-crushing, graveyard stomping, Frankenstein/Dracula/Wolfman hate-fuck riffage written thus far.”

Guitarist Matt Moore adds, “Each song has its own distinct and strange aura of speed, darkness, brute strength, violence, cunning, and power. We have raised the bar and taken on musical and lyrical concepts that would drive commoners insane.”

Since completing recording, RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER have been performing regionally, most recently at Philadelphia venue Johnny Brenda’s. Earlier this year members of the band sat down with Metal Rules TV for a roundtable chat about the album. The interview is available HERE.

Formed in 2002, RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER had several underground releases, including a split 7-inch and a live album, before signing with Relapse. Their studio debut, Buried In the Front Yard, was released October 2005. Blabbermouth called the record, “a dynamic Thrash album with roots in crossover, a musically talented cast, and loads of tongue-in-cheek cleverness.”

The band would keep busy with additional split recordings, Speed N Spikes Vol. II (2008) and Urine Trouble / Nothing Defeats the Skull (2008) before getting back in to the studio for their second full length, Living for Death, Destroying the Rest also released by Relapse in January of 2009. The band supported Absu for a 22-date US/Canadian tour April 2009, a tour with Deceased in 2010, and have been performing regionally since.

RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER currently features bassist/vocalist Shawn Riley, guitarist Matt Moore, guitarist Ryan Moll, and drummer Patrick Battaglia.
