TITANS EVE – Vancouver Thrashers Titans Eve are now exclusively streaming their first single ‘Destined To Die’ on Decibel Magazine’s Deciblog here. The single is from the band’s upcoming concept album ‘Life Apocalypse’ set for release on Friday, July 13th and is the follow-up to last year’s debut ‘The Divine Equal’ (based on The Book of Genesis & John Milton’s poem ‘Paradise Lost’).

”Destined to Die’ is the track we feel really introduces our album’s theme of a personal apocalypse on a broad scale. It’s about a person’s everyday struggle with life challenges and how in the end we die no matter how hard we fight to live. Death is the storm we can’t see, but our wanting to triumph over challenges despite the inevitable end is what makes us real.’ says vocalist / guitarist Brian Gamblin.

K-OS is a Spanish Metal band that caught my Metal attention this past weekend. K-OS is from Salamanca, Spain. Planeta Violento is their new studio album and it was released on April 16th, 2012.

Planeta Violento is sung in Spanish and the Metal is very, very good. Very good. Vocalist Carlos Plaza “Dyox” has a strong delivery and projects that Metal attitude which makes the songs sound even more potent. Planeta Violento embodies great production and this band plays tight. I really dig what I’ve heard (and still listening to) from K-OS and their Metal does kick some ass aplenty.

Thrash Metal and any Metal fan who appreciates quality songs and musicianship should give K-OS a listen. This album is riff infested and will give you every opportunity to bang thy head. Air drumming to Planeta Violento is fully endorsed by Stone! (Yes, my air drumming is out-of-control while listening to Planeta Violento). Metal be thy name.

KEEL “Larger Than Live” From 1989 – A Vinyl Find I’d Like To Show You…

KEEL – That’s it at the top! I recently found this 1989 KEEL album, Larger Than Live, at an antiques mall. I paid $4 for it (U.S.). Usually I’ll go to this antiques mall about once a month or so. There are a few record dealers there to visit; typically I can find and (sometimes) buy at least one or two albums on each trip. Condition always is critical with used albums; therefore I find myself passing on many potential purchases.

Passing on buying this KEEL album was not an option for me, on this day. I always listened to KEEL over the years and Ron Keel made quite a comeback with his band too; with 2010’s Streets Of Rock & Roll (Frontiers Records) proving to be an excellent Hard Rock album for my ears. Overall, this album is in excellent shape, both the jacket and vinyl. After all these years, I never owned Larger Than Live. I do own it now… and it’s on vinyl.

SKELETONWITCH – Announce North American Tour Dates, Summer 2012; European Tour Dates Listed

Ohio Metal heathens SKELETONWITCH have announced plans to demolish North America this summer on a headlining tour, which will also feature classic rockers Barnburner (Metal Blade Records). The tour, which includes two weeks’ worth of dates in Canada, will commence July 13th in York, Pennsylvania soon after the band return from a European tour during which they will play festivals alongside the likes of Slayer, Megadeth, and Behemoth. Decibel Magazine’s July cover story on Baroness gives an in-depth look into the making of Yellow & Green: “I had the idea very early on that we had a lot of demons that we wanted to exorcise musically,” John Baizley tells Decibel writer J. Bennett in the sprawling seven-page article.
