BEAK – Prepare For Debut Album With New Video Clip; Band Shares “EYRIE” Cover

CHICAGO QUARTET’S DEBUT ALBUM OUT APR. 3, CHICAGO SHOW MAR. 31 AT ULTRA LOUNGE

Feb. 21, Chicago — Beak, the Post-Metal quartet formed by local Chicago luminaries Chris Eichenseer and Jason Goldberg previously of The Timeout Drawer, have created a clip highlighting music from their forthcoming debut album, Eyrie (Apr. 3, Someoddpilot Records), which can be seen here:  http://vimeo.com/37183154.

The band has also shared the cover art for Eyrie which was created by Eichenseer, a sought after graphic artist who has done artwork for American Heritage, Caural, Elliot Lipp and others. The album cover photo was shot outside of Monterrey, Mexico where Eichenseer was teaching a course on graphic design.

Recorded and mixed in late-2011 at Engine Studios by Neil Strauch (Sage Francis, Bonnie Prince Billy), the five-track release highlights the band’s adept combination of blistering heaviness and melodic prog-rock.

“Metal for the sake of it just doesn’t interest us. We need more than heavy riffage and the trappings of the genre,” expained Eichenseer. “I wish we could call it something else, because to me it’s more. We’re not afraid to carry influence from our roots in post to punk rock. We’re very aware of storytelling and depth. We’re not interested in skulls.”

Vocalist Jon Slusher discussed the conceptual aspect of the debut album: “Eyrie is the nest of a bird of prey built in a high, inaccessible place. The album is conceptual.  It’s the path of ruin, the crumbling of empires and the marching of time. ”

IMPENDING DOOM – “Baptized In Filth” Releases March 13th, Via eOne Music

Southern California Death Metal road warriors, IMPENDING DOOM are releasing their next onslaught of gorship “Baptized in Filth” three weeks from today on March 13th, 2012. Produced by Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder) and Machine, this is the bands fourth full length and most ferocious effort to date. Bassist David Sittig comments:

“Baptized in filth represents the mindless indulgence and self worship in the vile world we live in. This album is meant to scare the hell out of you!”

IMPENDING DOOM has also confirmed for this years Metal Alliance Tour along side acts like Devildriver, Job For a Cowboy and Dying Fetus. If that wasn’t enough the band is also playing select dates on this years VANS Warped Tour this Summer.

Masaki Murashita – Hemoptysis Guitarist / Front Man Featured In Providence Cables Demonstration Videos

Hemoptysis guitarist and front man Masaki Murashita has done a series of nine demonstration videos for Providence Cables, all of which can be viewed at www.providence.jp. 
In addition to an introductory piece, a total of eight videos are included with Murashita discussing the original concepts, ideas, and the characteristics of each specific model.

English and Japanese language versions of the videos are available, the latter of which will be placed in music instrument stores nationwide in Japan this spring. Some of the acclaimed artists that have used the guitar cables include Carl Verheyen, Larry Carlton, Michael Landau, and Ramon Goose.

Hemoptysis is working in support of their latest album, Misanthropic Slaughter (produced by Grammy Award winning producer Ryan Greene). The band recently released a music video for the track “M.O.D.,” The video was shot  in an abandon warehouse in Vail, AZ. CORROSION OF CONFORMITY – Full Album Stream At AOL Music! New Album Releases February 28th In North America

Starting today, AOL Spinner is streaming CORROSION OF CONFORMITY‘s self-titled new studio offering in its entirety. Set for North American release on February 28, 2012 via Candlelight Records, Corrosion Of Conformity was recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles, the 11-track offering was produced by the band in cooperation with long-time collaborator John Custer, mixed by John Lousteau (Foo Fighters) and features artwork by Seldon Hunt (Melvins, High On Fire).

Featuring the esteemed Animosity line-up of vocalist/bassist Mike Dean, guitarist Woody Weatherman, and drummer/vocalist Reed Mullin, the album’s release closes a six-year recording gap and completes over a year of concentrated writing and recording for the band.

In conjunction with the record release, the Raleigh, North Carolina legends will embark on a full U.S. headlining tour this March. FOREVERS EDGE – Team All About The Music Welcomes Progressive Metallers To Their Roster!

There certainly is something in that New Jersey water that can produce some incredible music. FOREVER’S EDGE is a conglomerate of Metal’s finest featuring Clay Barton (Suspyre), Salvatore Pisano, Andrew Distabile (Suspyre), Mike Pignataro, Samus Paulicelli (Decrepit Birth, ex-Suspyre, ex-Mutiny Within, ex-Abigail Williams), and Sharon MacPherson.

FOREVER’S EDGE has some of the most technical musicianship layered with soaring vocals by Barton and complex song structures. For anyone who has even the slightest interest in Progressive Metal, this is a band that will have you hooked.

The band is currently in the studio (Erypsus Studios) recording their second, as of yet unnamed, masterpiece. The album is due to be out in the summer of 2012 with a load of updates and announcements in the mean time.

To pump up the fans, FOREVER’S EDGE has re-released their highly acclaimed debut album Chaotic Silence. When guitarist Salvatore Pisano was asked what Chaotic Silence was about, he stated:

SABATON – Album Details, Cover Art and Track Listing Revealed for Carolus Rex

Swedish epic Power Metallers SABATON have revealed a bunch of details for the bands upcoming album Carolus Rex which will be released May 25 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The lyrics for the CD deal with the Swedish Empire (referring to the Kingdom of Sweden between 1561 and 1721) and are sung entirely in Swedish.

Commented the band: “For the first time ever we have had an expert to help us out with the theme, the well-known Swedish historian Bengt Liljegren. We have also added some extra time in the studio to find the absolute right sound on ‘Carolus Rex’, and our producer, Peter Tägtgren, says that this album will mark a brand new standard for how a Heavy Metal album should sound like!”

Liljegren’s previously published works include acclaimed biographies of Karl XII among others. He also appeared in the popular Swedish TV series “Boston Tea Party”.

The album’s release will be followed by a two-year world tour.

ACCEPT – Announce Album Cover and Track List for STALINGRAD

COHEED AND CAMBRIA – Announces 2012 Tour Dates With IRON MAIDEN

It’s been a busy week in Coheed world! We are in the studio working on our sixth studio album, and we just announced we’ll be touring this summer with IRON MAIDEN in the US and Canada as part of the “MAIDEN ENGLAND WORLD TOUR!” According to IM’s management, the tour will closely mirror, in terms of production and content, Maiden’s original 1988 concert video of the same name, shot on the “Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son Tour.”

We will begin our stint with them on July 24th in Winnipeg and end on August 18 in Houston, with stops in Seattle, Denver, Dallas and Los Angeles along the way. Tickets go on sale March 2nd and 3rd. Full dates below, and more info will be coming soon.

We will also be appearing at this years HANGOUT FESTIVAL in Gulf Shores, AL with Jack White, Wilco, Skrillex, and many more.

EYE BEYOND SIGHT – Signs With Massacre Records

EYE BEYOND SIGHT – The band began to play in 2003. Within the past couple of years many members gave up the playing. However, they always found people with enthusiasm who wanted to be a part of EYE BEYOND SIGHT.

In 2005 Tomi joined EYE BEYOND SIGHT as vocalist and after some months Kepasz (bass) and Balint (drums) followed. The band’s debut album “Dies Ad Quem” was released in 2007. Their second album “The Sun And The Flood” was recorded in May 2011 and will be released soon.

This is TRIBUNE‘s third studio effort and second full length since the band of friends and brothers inception in 2005. In additional news,  TRIBUNE will also be kicking off their two month USA and Canada tour in support of “Elder Lore/ The Dark Arts” on April 2012 with dates soon to be announced.

SIX FEET UNDER – Announce New Bassist!

Jeff Hughell, former bassist for Brain Drill & Vile, has been chosen as new SFU bassist!

Within days of announcing the departure of Matt DeVries, SIX FEET UNDER has locked in the latest addition to the bands already heavy and extremely talented lineup. Seven-string bassist Jeff Hughell, formerly of the Santa Cruz California technical Death Metal band Brain Drill and Concord California Death Metal band Vile, will be joining the ranks as the new SIX FEET UNDER bassist. WEDNESDAY 13 ‘Calling All Corpses’ – Horrificus Terrificus & Damn Fun Too!

WEDNESDAY 13 – Yes, Wednesday 13 wears his Alice Cooper “badge of influence” on his sleeve. I find it admirable, thank you. Calling All Corpses is a Horror Punk/Metal album that Alice Cooper should have made last year without any billionaire producer pulling the strings. Instead, this is a Wednesday 13 album and he uses his ghoul-given talent and cool as hell band to deliver 13 horrifying songs of thump and stomp on Calling All Corpses. These are songs that fans of Horror Metal, Horror Punk, Gothic and Hard Rock should easily get motivated to bounce up and down to, while kicking their neighbors trash cans over, under a moonlit sky.

Calling All Corpses is a party album. A crank-it-up-loud album. A “who gives a shit about the economy that our elected politicians screwed up” album. Wednesday 13 obviously realizes that Rock ‘N Roll was supposed to be (gasp) FUN in the first place and runs with it with infectious gusto. Wednesday 13 will never release an album to make you “think”, hell no. Wednesday 13 makes hard & heavy driven music to accommodate your escape from the stupid-ass stimuli that invades your space and day.

I appreciate Wednesday 13 for not trying to impress any Rock scholar out there who feels that the Rock history’s sun set and rose on 1969. The Punk fueled I Wanna Be Cremated and the hammerin’ Ghoul Of My Dreams may never get performed on any elitist Grammy stage, still, these songs have more substance than half of the audio sewage I suffered through, while listening to and watching that music comedy awards show.

It is not a ghastly move to buy Calling All Corpses and become absorbed by the Horror Punk/Metal and lyrics that spill from it. Calling All Corpses does not come across as cliché’, nor does this album ever drift off into repetitious content. If you’re looking for cliché’ and repetition, then watch a re-run of last Sunday’s Grammy Awards. This is a style of music born from good-times Rock ‘N Roll and it’s deserving of my Metal praise. Metal be thy name.

FEAR FACTORY – Announce New Bassist

Band Continues Work On Forthcoming Album

FEAR FACTORY today confirms Matt DeVries as the band’s new bass player. DeVries, previously of Chimaira and most recently Six Feet Under, joins the band replacing Byron Stroud. The announcement comes as the band continues work on their upcoming new album, planned for release early Summer. The album is currently being mixed in Canada by Greg Reely while artwork for the album’s packaging is nearly complete.

DeVries comments: “I have been asked by Dino and Burton to join one of my favorite bands. I have been a fan of FEAR FACTORY since 1992 and I could not be more excited to be part of this incredible band. We have shared the stage many times together and now I’m beyond stoked to be on the same stage playing together. Thank you to all my fans worldwide for sticking by me and I will be seeing you all on the road very soon.”

Guitarist Dino Cazares and vocalist Burton C. Bell note: “We are very excited to have Matt playing bass for FEAR FACTORY. We feel he is a great addition to our touring lineup. He has been a friend for a very long time and he’s a great musician who will be a perfect instrument in the FF machine.”

FEAR FACTORY’s new album will follow 2010’s highly regarded Mechanize. Said Blabbermouth of the record, “this is the album fans have been waiting for…a fiery and evolved rebirth of the band that changed metal in the ‘90s.” Revolver Magazine called Mechanize, “one of the best albums of the band’s career. Its combination of new-wave melody, rapid-fire aggression, and electronic ambiance sounds as fresh today as FEAR FACTORY did nearly 20 years ago. Call it the soul of their new machine,” while Decibel Magazine added, “FEAR FACTORY are back and beyond intact.”
